JanelleHollingshead Introducing the importance and history of Standard Units of Measuremen 0 Jul 13 2009, 3:20 PM EDT by JanelleHollingshead

I have encouraged students to research the history of measurement units used by Americans and the universal standards. The history difference between Fahrenheit and Celsius is really interesting. This is a great activity have them research in the computer lab for a day and then have a presentations the following day.

I attached a story of measurement that I pieced together. I am not 100% positive that all of the facts are straight but I think they are. Some of them may be legend. There is also a reading guide I give to help students who struggle with reading.

Please proof-read the story if you use it because I am awful at spelling.
